In the 2020-2021 academic year, Webster Leiden Campus awarded four 50% tuition reduction scholarships to help students achieve their academic goals. 

In Fall 2021, Webster Leiden Campus is proud to announce that the Global Citizen Scholarship will continue with awards being presented to 3 new students. 

We are looking for future students who are passionate about making a change for the better in their community. Making a change requires action and determination, and these are qualities highly valued at Webster Leiden.

How can you as one person make a difference? Your global influence can be measured by the positive changes you envision for individuals, groups of people, or a community. Mahatama Gandhi once said “In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” With this Webster Leiden Global Citizen Scholarship, we would like to see how you can inspire and make a change!

Here are some guiding questions:

• If you have the power to change one thing in the world, what would you change?
• How would you change your community in a positive way?
• How can your involvement in your school or community make an impact?

We created the Global Citizen Scholarship in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by students.  The award is a 50% scholarship. This award will be presented to three students (First Place Prize).  In addition, three students will receive free housing for 1 year at the Leiden Campus Living & Learning Center (Second Place Prize).

Eligibility

• Open to freshmen and transfer students only.
• Must have an application started with Webster Leiden Campus. 
• Must be passionate about community involvement.

Criteria

• Tell your story in a unique and visually appealing way that highlights originality and strength of message
• Creative use of media is encouraged: video format, photo with accompanying essay, or standalone essay.
• Video Submission Requirements: Maximum of 5 minutes (use the tools you have: phone, tablet, etc.) OR
• Photo Submission Requirements: High quality photograph with accompanying essay of 600 words. OR
• Essay Submission Requirements: Well-structured with a minimum of 1,000 words.
